Raleigh Street
Historic Denver Home Renovation & ADU
About Raleigh Street
Completed 2018
This property holds a special place in L&D Construction's history. Originally purchased by David and Lindsay, the project involved both a renovation of the existing home and the addition of what would become L&D's first ADU.
The main house underwent a thoughtful renovation that preserved its historic Denver character while improving functionality for modern living. Like many homes in Denver's older neighborhoods, the property offered tremendous potential but required updates to better support the way homeowners live today. The renovation focused on enhancing the home's livability while maintaining the charm and architectural details that made it unique.

At the same time, the team added an accessory dwelling unit to the rear of the property, creating additional living space and demonstrating the possibilities of ADU development in Denver's urban neighborhoods. Together, the renovated main house and ADU showcased how homeowners can maximize both the functionality and value of their property without sacrificing character.
Over the years, the property served many purposes. The ADU functioned as a short-term rental, a long-term rental, and a showcase space for homeowners interested in learning more about ADUs. Meanwhile, the main house remained a welcoming family home and an example of how thoughtful renovation can breathe new life into an older property.
In 2019, David and Lindsay sold the property and moved across the street to a newly designed single-family home and ADU project. While the ADU often receives attention as L&D's first, the success of this property was really about the combination of a beautifully renovated main home and a thoughtfully integrated secondary dwelling that worked together to maximize the potential of the site.
