Historic Denver Home Renovation

About Humboldt Street

Built in the 1880s, this historic Denver home underwent a comprehensive transformation designed to preserve its character while creating a layout better suited for modern living.

The homeowners, longtime friends of the L&D Construction team, wanted to maximize the home's existing footprint while adding the functionality and comfort their growing family needed. The project included a complete remodel of both the first and second floors, updating the home's living spaces while respecting the architectural charm that makes historic Denver homes so special.

The home was designed to maximize both functionality and flexibility within the constraints of the site. The finished residence features three bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a thoughtfully designed floor plan that takes full advantage of every square foot. One of the standout features is the basement level, which includes a separate entrance and the ability to function independently from the main living areas, creating opportunities for rental income, guest accommodations, or multigenerational living.

Throughout the home, attention to detail is evident. From the carefully considered layout to the architectural elements and rooftop deck, every space was designed with purpose. The rooftop deck provides an additional outdoor living area while offering views of the surrounding neighborhood and Denver skyline.

Projects like this are why we enjoy collaborating with talented architects. Frank and the team at FAM Design created a home that balances aesthetics, functionality, and flexibility, and we were excited to bring that vision to life. The result is a distinctive infill home that demonstrates how thoughtful design can transform even the most challenging sites into exceptional places to live.
