Multigenerational Denver ADU Designed for Flexibility and Access
This Denver ADU was designed to support multigenerational living, creating a private, accessible space for an aging parent while preserving outdoor features like a garden, chicken coop, and flexible garage.
The layout prioritizes accessibility, efficient circulation, and long-term livability, all within the constraints of a compact urban lot. Careful siting maintains usable outdoor space and integrates the structure with the existing home.
Zoning requirements at the time influenced the form and massing, resulting in a design that balances regulatory constraints with the homeowners’ vision. This project helped expose zoning limitations that ultimately led to more flexible ADU regulations in Denver.

Flexible ADU with Multi-Use Design
The owners came to us with completed plans and a vision for a highly versatile ADU. Thoughtfully designed, the structure maximizes flexibility with a split garage—two bays for the main home and a separate bay for the ADU or workshop. A glass garage door opens to the backyard, embracing Denver’s indoor-outdoor lifestyle.
The interior is equally adaptable, with a separate living area and full bath that can serve the main home, while the other portion functions as a short-term rental. Thanks to updated zoning, this two-story ADU supports workspace, studio, and income potential—all in one smart, future-ready design.

Wash Park Corner ADU
This one-bedroom, one-bath ADU makes a bold impression on its corner lot—often mistaken for a single-family home. Designed with both immediate and long-term use in mind, the owners will live in the ADU while they transform the existing front duplex into a single-family residence.
Once complete, the ADU will serve as a rental and flexible space for family. A spacious garage accommodates two cars, plus additional storage and workshop area. Reclaimed brick was carefully selected to match the front home, creating a cohesive look. We also assisted with parcel reconfiguration and city approvals to bring the project to life.

Wash Park Attached Accessory Living Space
Referred by a past client, this Wash Park project transforms a prime corner lot into a flexible, attached accessory living space. While not technically an ADU, it functions as one—designed for aging parents, rental potential, or future aging in place.
The single-level layout emphasizes accessibility with a curbless shower and discreet grab bars, blending function with clean design. Thoughtful planning allows for future ADU conversion under Denver’s updated zoning.
Architecturally, the structure complements the main home while maintaining its own identity. Located one block from Wash Park, the home was featured on the 2025 Wash Park Home Tour supporting Steele Elementary.
