The Next Chapter for L & D Construction

There is a season in every small business where the work itself demands more attention than the spotlight. For L&D Construction, that season was defined by focus on the work itself, and during it we continued doing what we have always done: building high-quality ADUs and homes throughout Denver with care, precision, and accountability.

If you found us recently and wondered why our website or social channels felt quiet, the answer is simple. We never stopped building. While our marketing took a back seat, our job sites remained active across Denver neighborhoods, where we focused on delivering projects for clients who trusted us to get it right.

L&D Construction was founded in 2009, during a recession, by David Schultz. From the beginning, the company was shaped by adaptability, leadership, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. As the business evolved, there was a period when leadership was stretched thin, and it became clear that this is a company that thrives when its principals are fully present and leading from the front.

That clarity brought renewed focus. David returned to L&D Construction with intention, strengthening internal systems, communication, and project delivery. The result is a company that feels grounded, aligned, and confident in its direction.

During what may have appeared to be a quiet period online, L&D Construction was helping shape Denver’s ADU landscape. Long before citywide zoning changes expanded access, we were navigating complex permitting, collaborating closely with architects, and building 70 Accessory Dwelling Units, most within a 10 mile radius of Denver. They were thoughtful investments designed to create long-term value for homeowners and neighborhoods alike.

Today, as ADUs are permitted throughout Denver and much of the Front Range, homeowners are seeking builders with real experience, not just surface-level familiarity. Our process emphasizes early feasibility, realistic budgeting, and clear communication between homeowner, architect, and builder, because successful projects begin with the right conversations.

As we step into the next chapter for L&D Construction, you will begin to see more of our work and our thinking. We will be sharing completed projects, active job sites, and insights into planning, budgeting, and construction so clients can make informed decisions with confidence.

This is not a comeback. It is a continuation, built on years of experience, lessons learned, and a deep commitment to doing the work well.
